The closest major cities to Nadal are Toulouse. and Bordeaux (the latter known of course for its great wines.) There are no direct flights to either city from the US, but you can easily change planes in Paris and catch a direct flight from there. It is also possible to take the train from Paris and arrive just a few kilometers from Nadal.
Usually we fly into Toulouse and pick up a car. Nadal is about two hours from the Toulouse-Blagnac ariport, most of it on four-lane Autoroute. On can also drive down from Paris, of course. It is about 500 kilometers (300 miles), virtually all of it by four-lane Autoroute, and it can be driven in about 6 hours. If driving down from Paris, consider taking two days for the trip because there are things to see along the way. Heading south from Paris by car you cross the Loire Valley, and would normally go through Poitiers. It is also nice to work in a slight detour through Chartres or Bourges.
For our car rentals and short-term leases we have always been very satisfied with Auto Europe. You can arrange almost any kind of long or short term rental or lease, and you can pick up and drop off in all the major cities of France.
