I hope you have been able to download PDF files.
After struggling with Acrobat to prevent it from crashing my system or freezing it, I uninstalled it. Instead I have GSview4.4 and Ghostscript8.00. Now down loading PDF and PS files is a snap. Both the above packages are freeware. Download both. I assume you are working on a Windows machine.

Also try RoboPDF, to create PDF files.
