You will need Adobe Acrobat to view and print the PDF files. I recommend that you do not configure Acrobat as a plug-in to your web browser unless you just want to print rather than save the PDF files or you don't mind fishing around in your computer's internet cache.
If you use Windows you will need a postscript interpreter to read the postscript files. I use Ghostscript - its good and its free. You will also need something like WinZip to install Ghostscript or if you download the zipped postscript files. The latter is a good idea if you have a slow connection.
If you have a Mac I'm told that there are at least two ways to print the postscript files:
- Use Postman which you can obtain from the "Utilities" folder in the "New PD Software" folder on the "Campus Server" volume of the "Public Access Server". You should log in as "guest" from the "Vassar Internet" zone. Once you have Postman installed on your machine, drag the postscript file to the Postman icon and it will print to the currently choosen printer.
- Use Drop*PS, which you can obtain from Bare Bones Software, Inc. Once the Drop*PS file has been uncompressed, run the program to complete the inital setup. After that, just drag the postscript file to the Drop*PS icon and it will print to the currently choosen printer
